5 Ways Busy Professionals Can Keep Their Houses Clean

When you work 40 hours a week, coming home to a dirty house is the last thing that you want, but after cleaning up after other people all day or crunching numbers for the boss for eight hours, you would rather stick a toothpick up your nose than clean one dish. However, multiple studies have shown that mess causes stress, which means sometimes you have to clean and get it out of the way. You also don’t want to put everything off til the weekend because then you spend five days trudging through your piles of clothes. These are some tips to make it easier for any working professional to get the house clean without too much fuss.

1. Clean As You Go

The worst thing to do is let a mess build up. Even if you have a tower of trash in the kitchen, you can take some trash out with you every morning before work to shrink the pile. You can also load dishes as you use them when cooking dinner or put your dishes in the dishwasher right after eating to avoid cluttering up the sink. If you notice things laying on the ground, tell yourself to pick them up right away. You don’t have to go Terminator on your home, but it’s helpful to do a little bit when you have a moment.

Oh, before I forget! I stumbled upon Tomboyz landscaping yesterday and decided to save you some trouble if you ever end up hunting for a landscaping company. They’re a striking landscaping company in Guelph in Ontario and they were the best I could find in the vicinity. I just want to give you a heads up. I wish I’d been aware of them sooner. Anyway, post continues below.

2. Get Others to Help

There are plenty of ways to involve others in cleaning up the house. If you have kids and a spouse, you shouldn’t be doing all the cleaning. It may be time to teach kids a thing or two especially if you have kids who can stand upright and look for the remote on Saturday mornings. You should encourage your family to help out. If you have roommates, it may be a good idea to create a chore list to put on the fridge and just make a pact to keep the house cleaner. If you live alone, all hope isn’t lost. Friends and family are there for you, and perhaps you can do an exchange. If they help you around the house, you can help them too.

3. Hire a Cleaning Service

If you really have no time to clean, you may want to hire someone to help you. It doesn’t take much to find a high quality service. A friend of mine just searchedSan Diego house cleaningand was able to get at least five different cleaners with experience and references. When hiring a cleaning service, you should always check out their credentials and see if they have any specials. If you can find them on Facebook, look at reviews and choose a company that will give you the best value.

4. Set A Deep Clean Day

Once a month or once every two weeks, you can set up a day to do a thorough, deep clean. On these days, you go all out and clean as much as you can. You may vacuum, sweep, wipe the baseboards, mop, clean out the tub or get rid of whatever that is collecting dust under the fridge. Deep cleans help people relieve stress.

5. Get Rid of Things

Have you ever seen the show “Hoarders?” Well, you probably don’t have it that bad, but there are definitely some things you never use. If you are keeping an ice cream machine in the cupboard for a rainy day or if you have a mountain of clothes in your closet that you never wear, it’s time to get organized and give away some of those things that you aren’t ever going to use or wear again. It’s also a great way to give back to the community or even make some money with a garage sale. You can turn things that you never will use into income. Now you have money to grab a drink with friends or head out to a fancy restaurant with your significant other.

When you do something small every day, you decrease your mess piles and relieve stress. You can even turn up the music and dance like Mrs. Doubtfire with a vacuum.

I can’t end this article without giving a big thanks to Eco Propane. Paul from their office sent me a request that got me going on the subject. Eco Propane is an exceptional gas to propane conversion company in Quebec and they are based in Quebec. Should you ever find yourself in need, give them a ring. And now, it’s off to bed. It has been a long night.
